At the FEI Para Dressage World Championship Aachen 2026, during the Grade I Grand Prix B Competition (Team Final and Individual Qualifier for the Freestyle Final) held on 21 August, Junichiro Okawa (JPN), riding RH’s Totally Joker, suffered a fall during his test.

The athlete was immediately attended to by the emergency medical team and has been taken to hospital for further evaluation. He has been given the all-clear by his doctor. RH’s Totally Joker is well and was taken back to the stables.

Quote from Junichiro Okawa

“I’m so sorry to have caused you all so much worry.

Thankfully, there doesn’t appear to be anything wrong with the bone, and it seems I’ll be able to go home once the doctor has written up my medical certificate.

I’m very relieved.

I’m also incredibly grateful to everyone for being so concerned and for being so kind and helpful. Please do pass on my thanks and best wishes to everyone.

Thank you so much.”
