This is an Official Decision concerning the following competition at the FEI World Championships, Aachen 2026:

• • Jumping Second Competition Team Final and Individual Qualifier, Friday 21 August 2026

Due to urgent family reasons the appointed Jumping Technical Delegate, Santiago Varela Ullastres needs to leave the Championships immediately and will not be in attendance for the above-referenced Competition. Prior to leaving the venue, he reviewed and approved the course plan for the Competition and walked the course.

The President of the Ground Jury, in consultation with the Organising Committee, the FEI Executive Director Sport & Games and the FEI Jumping Committee Chair on behalf of the FEI Jumping Committee, have taken the following decision:

• • With immediate effect, all duties of the Technical Delegate will be taken over by the President of the Ground Jury, Patrice Alvado.

This decision was taken in accordance with the Preamble to the FEI Jumping Rule which states:

“Every eventuality cannot be provided for in these JRs. In any unforeseen or exceptional circumstances, it is the duty of the appropriate person or body to make a decision in a sporting spirit, by approaching as near as possible the intention of the JRs and of the GRs. Should there remain any omissions in the JRs, such omission shall be interpreted in a manner compatible to the fullest extent with the other provisions of these JRs, other FEI Rules and Regulations, and sporting spirit.”

Information on the arrangements for the FEI Jumping World Championship, Third Competition – Individual Final on Sunday 23 August will be communicated in due course.
